Amazing Animal Journeys is a non-fiction information book about different animals migrating。 Still aimed at younger children as it does not include real pictures or diagrams but uses illustrations to convey the facts。 Aimed at children with an avid infest in animals, giving detailed facts about each one。 However, not the most engaging book in my opinion。 Use of real photographs could interest a child further as they could easily identify what animals they know or are particularly interested in。

Migration is an important topic for students to learn about。 This is a great book for children to read when learning about animals who migrate。 It includes birds, whales, butterflies, and other animals。

Beautifully illustrated and an interesting layout for a non-fiction children's book。 The children in my class thoroughly enjoyed reading and would regularly recite facts in the playground in efforts to impress others! Migration coolness。

I really enjoyed this book。 It is short enough that I can use it in my elementary science classes without them loosing focus but it is packed with great information and a starting point for a lot of discussions about various migratory animals。 I enjoyed the illustrations as well。 I liked the input about climate change it was informative but not too doom and gloom for the younger kids; just the right amount to open up a dialogue about our environment and taking care of it。

As one might expect, this was a cut above the quotidian for children's non-fiction picture books。 Jason Cockcroft's illustrations were an important element with a cleverly changing human family。 I still reckon it is a bit 'Don't try this at home' whale watching in a tiny boat but I note the children are all wearing life jackets。A lovely range of migrations was chosen - the big ones, and the jellyfish who simply move a few kilometres in a lake to get the sun。 The issue of climate change was dealt As one might expect, this was a cut above the quotidian for children's non-fiction picture books。 Jason Cockcroft's illustrations were an important element with a cleverly changing human family。 I still reckon it is a bit 'Don't try this at home' whale watching in a tiny boat but I note the children are all wearing life jackets。A lovely range of migrations was chosen - the big ones, and the jellyfish who simply move a few kilometres in a lake to get the sun。 The issue of climate change was dealt with well so that young children are not constantly slammed with doom (however accurately) but the issue is not swept under the carpet。 。。。more

Good explanation of the concept of migration, as well as detailed examples - from the jellyfish that migrate from one end of their lake to the other, to blue whales that migrate all over the ocean, the book covers many different kinds of animals as well as their reasons for migrating。Also includes lots of interesting facts in the back of the book, covering the animals mentioned as well as ones that were pictured but not described。Only nitpick: the text of the story and the text of the factual no Good explanation of the concept of migration, as well as detailed examples - from the jellyfish that migrate from one end of their lake to the other, to blue whales that migrate all over the ocean, the book covers many different kinds of animals as well as their reasons for migrating。Also includes lots of interesting facts in the back of the book, covering the animals mentioned as well as ones that were pictured but not described。Only nitpick: the text of the story and the text of the factual notes are so similar that I read the entire book thinking it was all supposed to be read at once - which led to a moment of confusion on the last page。 I thought to myself, "what an abrupt ending! They should have ended this book after the last paragraph!" and that's when I noticed the difference in font。 。。。more
